Postpartum services provide moms and their families important support during the period of transition that follows birth. Postpartum care hours are ideal for new moms and experienced moms alike to allow moms and/or couples to fully immerse themselves in the "babymoon" period which extends from birth through the first month of life. My philosophy for postpartum care is see a need, fill a need, whatever that need from mom, baby, or family may be.

Services can include:

• breastfeeding support
• infant care
• instruction in infant swaddling and soothing
• in-home cooking/baking of fresh, nutritious meals
• housecleaning
• and childcare for siblings

Also possible are services specially tailored for moms and their new infants to encourage healing, bonding, and confidence. These include:

• aromatherapy baths
• moxibustion or "mother roasting"
• massage
• use of the faja/rebozo
• and childcare to allow mom to indulge in well deserved rest and rejuvenation.

Postpartum support is purchased hourly (unlike packaged birth services). Clients are provided with the opportunity before birth or upon contacting me for services to reserve hours in advance. Current rates are $20/hr weekdays and $25/hr evenings and weekends. Overnight care and support may be available upon contacting Barbara at the rate of $30/hr. Postpartum care hours can be purchased as gifts by friends and family members before the baby’s arrival as well as after. Bartering for services and rate discounts may be possible.
